It’s no secret that time passes quickly. All too soon, that little one you love more than words will be growing into the person they are meant to be... and you’ll sit back and wonder where the time went. As a mother myself, I know better than anyone how quickly these days go.
Motherhood is miraculous, isn’t it? There is nothing more perfect than carrying a life inside of you, welcoming your little one into the world, and watching with wonder as they grow and change throughout the years.
If you’re anything like me, you want to preserve those tiny toes, belly laughs, slobbery kisses, scrumptious lips, and unique personalities while you still can. You want beautiful photographs that will remind you of all the moments and milestones that make being a parent so sweet.
And ultimately? You want to build a legacy for your family that will be treasured and passed down for generations.
I’m a professional newborn, maternity and childhood photographer based in Rocky Hill, Connecticut but originally from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. I'm married to the most wonderful man and we have a sweet son, Samuel, filling our home with laughter.
Before you can understand my heart as a photographer you have to know that I grew up surrounded by family. A big, loud, joy-filled family. When I left Brazil almost fifteen years ago, I left a big piece of my heart behind and learned the deep significance of photography.
See, the photos I had of my family were my greatest treasures when I couldn’t reach out and hug them in person (yes, I’m a hugger). When my husband and I welcomed our son into the world...this love for photographs just multiplied. Everything came full circle for me on Samuel’s first birthday when we traveled to Brazil.
“Mama!” he said, as we flipped through an old album and he pointed to one of my own baby pictures.
And in that moment, my “why” as a photographer was clear. The photos we make together aren’t just for you (although I sure hope you hang them all over your home). They are for your kids, grandkids, and all the generations to come.
Family is one of the best gifts we have in this world and my hope is that the photos I create will remind you of your story and spark gratitude in your heart. I hope you’ll sit down with your kids years from now and they’ll point at their own baby pictures and say, “Mama, is that me?!”
Photography aside, if you’re ever in the neighborhood and happen to smell any delicious Brazilian food floating through the air...chances are it’s coming from my kitchen. I’ll invite you inside and if you throw on some samba music I dare you to stop me from singing along and dancing with a big smile on my face. Cooking and dancing are in my blood just like my love for family and capturing memories on camera.

"Luciene did my maternity pictures and our newborn pictures as well. Prior to my maternity shoot, she sat down with us and discussed our preferences and really got to know us. She's very patient and knows how to keep older kids engaged so that she is able to capture the images she wants (I have a very energetic 4 year old).
